Art Section

Many children in schools due to time-tabling and lack of resources do not have access to comprehensive art education, this results in the serious underdevelopment of their visual language, forms of expression and in turn their aesthetic awareness.
The aim of the Art section is to tackle this absence through a specially designed art education program.
Art teaching methods differed considerably from those found in schools as the emphasis is upon participating in workshops conducted by an artist, thus giving children the opportunity to learn from a practicing artist and professional in the field. The pupils, for example, are encouraged to experiment and explore and not to fear new materials, new ideas or their own mistakes.
The aim in this respect is to foster their self confidence through the experience of exploration while at the same time developing their creativity and art skills.
The creation of art works also provided an important space for character building for it provided the context for the transformation of mental images into images and objects that exist in the real world, while encouraging a child’s patience, technical skills and self confidence in the realization of their ideas.
The approach of this section as in the entire center's activities emphasizes on the importance of dialogue, group co-operation and experimentation.
