Cultural Exchange

Cultural Exchange program first started in 1998 between Ghirass Cultural Center and Bethlehem Link.

It aims to provide the opportunity for cultural exchanges between young people in other countries and children from Ghirass Cultural Center with the intention that those involved would be able to learn about each other's cultures first hand.

It was hoped that this would be a stimulating experience, which would encourage the children to make their own judgments about the world, to be less susceptible to manipulation and to be more tolerant.

The children made a link with St Gregory's School in Bath and Whitstone School in Shepton Mallet.

In 1998 was the first cultural exchange, It was through Bethlehem Link. Both schools welcomed Ghriass children again in 2002 and 2005.

Children as well as made cultural exchange programs with Norway in the years 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2006 in co operation with The Norwegian Union of Social Educators and Social workers, Telemark Branch, (FO). Link with www.fobsv.no

A group of children from Ghirass Cultural Center had been to France, sharing in international festivals tour in different French cities for one month in 2000.
