The Library

The Library has been a key section since the center beginnings. Ghirass Cultural Center considers reading as a basic element in developing the child's awareness and personality.

In many schools and homes there is a shortage of appropriate books and reading material, so it has always been considered important to provide this facility to children.

The library is run by a professional librarian and at present contains 3000 books in both Arabic and English; the number of books is always increasing at a rate according to the Center’s budget.

The library activities encourage creative reading and creative writing and thus developing Language, cognitive abilities and the enrichment of knowledge in a non-competitive environment.

The library also has a borrowing system, each child may read and review books and returning or renewing them, the borrowing period is one week.

Efforts always done to link the children with books in different ways, like Art, Drama, group games, quizzes… etc.
